Accuracy & Liability Disclaimer

Last updated June 28, 2026

Meristem is a decision-support tool for trained plant and landscape professionals. It is built to make your work faster and more consistent. It is not a substitute for your professional judgment, for an on-site inspection, or for any inspection, certification, or determination that law or regulation requires a licensed person to perform.

Verdicts are computed, but you must verify

Where Meristem returns a grade or assessment, that result is computed from published industry standards rather than guessed. Those standards include, among others, the ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) method, ANSI A300 pruning standards and ISA best management practices, and the FDACS Florida Grades and Standards for Nursery Plants. The standards are transcribed and encoded by us, and may contain transcription errors, may not reflect the most recent revision, and may not cover every species or situation. Some reference data is marked in the app as seed or unverified. You are responsible for confirming any result against the authoritative published source before you rely on it.

Identification and diagnosis can be wrong

Plant identification and health diagnosis, whether produced by an on-device model, a cloud AI model, or a knowledge-base lookup, can be incorrect or incomplete. Treat every identification and diagnosis as a starting point to verify, not a conclusion. Do not make a treatment, application, pruning, or removal decision based on Meristem alone.

Tree risk

The risk mode is structured on the ISA TRAQ method and applies the likelihood and consequence framework for you. The inputs, the interpretation, and any resulting recommendation remain the responsibility of a qualified arborist exercising independent judgment on site.

Nursery grading

The grade mode supports your evaluation of nursery stock against the FDACS Florida Grades and Standards. It does not constitute an official FDACS inspection, grade, or certification, and it does not bind any regulatory authority.

Pesticides and regulation

Meristem does not direct pesticide use and is not a regulatory authority. Always read and follow the product label and all applicable FDACS, EPA, and local requirements, and act only within the scope of your license and certification.

No warranty; your responsibility

Meristem is provided on an as-is and as-available basis without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. You assume full responsibility for the decisions you make and the actions you take using the tool. This disclaimer is part of, and is qualified by, the Terms of Service.
